Heart Attack can be predicted by using new blood test
After a long term research scientists found a new blood test that can predict the risk of heart attack or death in patients with severe coronary artery disease. This new blood test can quickly and easily find the risk of heart attack.
According to the researchers findings high level ACE2 enzymes found in patients with coronary artery disease by using the blood test. In the research they found circulating level of enzymes are low in healthy people but in case of cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation and kidney disease, this circulating enzyme levels increases.
In their research they recruited 79 patients with coronary artery disease among that heart failure and death occurred in 46% of patients. These conditions were observed to be more common in those with high ACE 2 levels.
Professor Louise Burrell, one of the researcher said, “ They were planned to investigate additional studies evaluate whether intensifying treatment in high risk patients can minimize the risk of death”. According to the research team the ACE2 blood test could be offered to all patients with coronary artery disease as part of their risk assessment.
Coronary artery disease is the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries, it can lead to chest pain, shortness of breath or heart attack. It may cause permanent heart damage.
